Over the weekend The Port Jervis Wrestling team competed at the 10th Annual Eastern States Classic at Sullivan County Community College. The tournament consisted of 101 schools including the top schools from NY, CT, VA and PA. PJHS's Bret Sauschuck placed 7th and helped the team place 22nd out of 101. Port Jervis was the highest placing school in Section 9.

Port Jervis Wrestling team placed 8th at the Christmas City Holiday Tournament in Bethlehem, Pa during Dec. 29&30. The Raiders had Bret Sauschuck at 152lbs placed 2nd. Dylan Muller at 145lbs and Dylan Booth at 106lbs placed 3rd. Dan DeCarlo took 4th at 170lbs.

This dual match defientley came down to the wire. A big pin by Travis Curreri and a 6 to 4 upset victory by Jonathan Rhoades gave the Port Jervis Wrestling Raiders their first victory of the season over Washingtonville. Also winning were Captains Bret Sauschuck, Dylan Muller and Travis Edwards. Dan DeCarlo added a win by pinfall.

 

The Port Jervis Wrestling team will be taking on the Warwick Wildcats at Warwick High School on Monday 12/12/11, at 6pm. This is a Coaches vs Cancer event in which donations will go to the American Cancer Society. The match will be held in Warwick, I invite all of you to come and cheer on for a good cause and to see your Wrestling Raiders in action
